Training Modules

The curriculum comprises eight integrated modules, which may be delivered in phased sessions based on the assessed needs of your institution. The training is both physical and online at a modest cost

Module Focus Area
1 Introduction to Child Protection. Key concepts, child rights, the key principles of child protection and ethical standards.
2. Legal, Policy, and Planning Frameworks Situates child protection and safeguarding within a set of international and regional human rights instruments as well as country specific law and policies
3. Child Protection Systems fosters understanding among training participants that child protection is a function of various elements of various systems that must interact to make the child protection function complete
4. Prevention & Response strategies Training participants are immersed into real life prevention and response strategies of child protection concerns
5. Child Safeguarding Responsibility of all people that work with, impact on, or come into contact with children and their organisations to do whatever it takes to protect children from all forms of abuse, neglect, exploitation and violence in a manner consistent with the standards, protection and care responsibilities towards children as set forth in the Convention on the Rights of the Child
6. E-Safety Safe Digital Environments through Safe by Design digital protection strategies
7. Alternative Discipline Promoting non-violent, child-centered behaviour management
8. Monitoring & Evaluation Basics of tracking the impact and effectiveness of protection interventions.
